Before hiring a fence company, ask for their warranty in writing. A contractor who truly stands behind their craftsmanship shouldn't hesitate to explain exactly what is and isn't covered.

A Warranty Is Only as Good as the Company Behind It

A 10-year warranty sounds great, but it doesn't mean much if the company isn't around next year.

Look for a contractor with an established local reputation, a history of completed projects, and plenty of verified reviews. The goal isn't just to get a warranty—it's to know there will be someone to answer the phone if you ever need it.

What Should Be Covered?

Every company is different, but you should ask questions like:

• What if a gate begins to sag?
• Are defective materials covered?
