6-Foot Board-on-Board Fence with Retaining Wall in Plano

Our team recently completed a new privacy fence in Plano that delivers lasting strength, full coverage, and timeless curb appeal.

This project featured a 6-foot board-on-board privacy fence built with Western Red Cedar pickets, trim, and rails. Western Red Cedar is one of the best choices for fencing, valued for its natural durability, resistance to decay, and warm, attractive appearance. The board-on-board style ensures complete privacy, eliminating gaps while creating a layered, high-end look.

For added strength and stability, we used heavy-duty steel posts to support the fence line. Steel posts provide superior longevity compared to wood posts, ensuring the structure stays strong through Texas weather and seasonal soil movement.

To further protect the fence, we installed a pressure-treated pine retaining wall at the base. In Plano’s clay-heavy soil, this feature helps stabilize the ground, manage drainage, and extend the life of the fence.

The project was finished with standard 1x4 Western Red Cedar trim, giving the fence a clean, classic frame. The homeowners chose to keep the fence unstained, allowing the natural beauty of the cedar to shine through.

This Plano wood privacy fence is a great example of how premium cedar, steel posts, and expert craftsmanship come together to create a fence that not only provides security and privacy but also enhances the value and beauty of the home. At Frisco Fence, we’re proud to deliver fences that families can rely on for years to come.
