8-Foot Board-on-Board Fence Replacement in Frisco, TX

8-Foot Board-on-Board Fence Replacement in Frisco, TX

When it comes to replacing an aging privacy fence, homeowners want more than just a beautiful finished product. They want a fence that is built to withstand North Texas weather for years to come.

Our crew recently completed this 152 linear foot fence replacement in Frisco, Texas, giving this property a fresh new look while upgrading the strength, durability, and functionality of the entire perimeter. The project included an 8-foot Board-on-Board privacy fence, three custom gates, premium materials, and our industry-leading 10-year workmanship warranty.

Project Overview

For this project, we installed:

  • 152 linear feet of 8-foot tall Board-on-Board fencing
  • Pre-stained Japanese Cedar pickets
  • Three custom gates
  • Heavy-duty galvanized steel posts
  • Pressure-treated kickboards
  • Pool code compliant self-closing gate springs
  • Premium hardware throughout

The result is a fence that not only enhances curb appeal but also provides exceptional privacy, security, and long-term performance.

Why Board-on-Board?

Board-on-Board fencing remains one of the most popular choices throughout Frisco because it offers superior privacy compared to traditional side-by-side fencing.

As wood naturally expands and contracts throughout the seasons, small gaps can develop in standard fences. With the overlapping Board-on-Board design, those gaps remain covered, helping maintain privacy year-round.

The finished appearance also looks outstanding from both inside and outside the property.

Pre-Stained Japanese Cedar

This homeowner selected our pre-stained Japanese Cedar, finished in a rich Medium Brown.

Pre-stained lumber provides several advantages:

  • Beautiful, consistent color from day one
  • Protection before installation
  • Reduced weathering during construction
  • Excellent long-term durability
  • Less maintenance during the early years of ownership

The warm brown finish complements virtually every home style while highlighting the natural grain of the cedar.

Steel Posts Make All the Difference

One of the biggest upgrades on this project is something you rarely notice after installation.

Every fence post was built using 2⅜-inch .095-gauge galvanized steel posts set in Maximizer concrete. Unlike traditional wood posts, steel posts won't rot at the ground line, making them one of the best long-term investments a homeowner can make.

This provides:

  • Greater resistance to high winds
  • Improved structural strength
  • Longer fence life
  • Less maintenance over time
  • Better performance in North Texas clay soils

Built for Everyday Use

This project also included three custom gates featuring:

  • Three heavy-duty hinges
  • Two-way locking latches
  • Durable black hardware
  • Pool code compliant self-closing springs where required

These details help ensure smooth operation while providing years of dependable performance.

Protected from the Ground Up

We also installed a 2x6 pressure-treated kickboard along the bottom of the fence.

Kickboards help protect the cedar pickets from:

  • Moisture
  • Weed trimmers
  • Lawn equipment
  • Ground contact

This simple upgrade can significantly extend the life of the fence while making future maintenance easier.

Another Beautiful Fence Completed in Frisco

We're proud of how this project turned out. The combination of premium cedar, galvanized steel posts, quality hardware, and skilled craftsmanship created a fence that is as strong as it is beautiful.

At Frisco Fence and Stain, we believe every fence should be built to last, not just look good on installation day.

If you're considering replacing your fence in Frisco or anywhere in North Texas, we'd love the opportunity to help you build something that will protect your home and enhance your property for years to come.
