Why Fence Prices Rarely Go Down: What Every North Texas Homeowner Should Know

More Than Just Fences: The Story Behind Frisco Fence & Stain

Recently, I had the opportunity to join the Good Neighbor Podcast and share a little bit about who we are, how Frisco Fence & Stain got started, and what makes our company different from many other fence contractors in North Texas.

As business owners, we spend most of our time helping customers, managing projects, and working behind the scenes. Opportunities like this allow us to tell our story and explain why we are passionate about serving homeowners and businesses throughout Frisco and the DFW area.

How Frisco Fence & Stain Began

Frisco Fence & Stain has been serving North Texas since 2013. My husband Jonathan and I took ownership of the company in 2016, but our connection to fencing started even earlier.

Before owning the business, Jonathan worked in the oil industry. When changes in that industry created an opportunity for a career shift, he joined Frisco Fence and learned the trade from the ground up. He spent years building fences, understanding construction, learning customer service, and developing the skills that would eventually help us take over the company.

Today, nearly a decade later, we continue to operate the business ourselves. When customers call our office, there is a very good chance they are speaking directly with one of the owners.

Why We Focus on Quality Over Shortcuts

One topic discussed during the podcast was the difference between fence companies.

One of the biggest misconceptions homeowners have is believing all fences are built the same. While many contractors can build a fence, there is a major difference between hiring someone who occasionally builds fences and hiring a dedicated fencing company.

At Frisco Fence & Stain, we are:

  • Fully insured
  • Experienced in residential and commercial fencing
  • Focused exclusively on fencing and staining
  • Backed by a 10-year warranty on qualifying new cedar fence installations
  • Committed to educating customers before they make an investment

A fence is one of the largest exterior improvements most homeowners make. We believe customers deserve expert guidance, quality materials, and a company that will stand behind its work.

Why We Don't Install Vinyl Fencing

Many homeowners are surprised to learn that we do not install vinyl fencing.

The reason is simple.

North Texas weather is tough on materials. Between intense UV exposure, extreme heat, hailstorms, and temperature swings, vinyl fencing often becomes brittle over time.

While vinyl can look beautiful when first installed, repairs can become difficult years later because damaged sections often require large portions of the fence to be replaced.

Instead, we focus on materials that perform well in Texas conditions, including:

  • Western Red Cedar
  • Japanese Cedar
  • Ornamental Steel
  • Chain Link
  • Commercial Fencing Solutions

Our goal is to recommend products we truly believe will provide long-term value for our customers.

Education First, Sales Second

One thing that came through clearly during the podcast is our commitment to educating homeowners.

We tell customers all the time:

"We may not always be the right fit for your project, but we still want you to make the best decision possible."

Whether someone hires us or not, we believe homeowners should understand:

  • Fence material options
  • Warranty differences
  • Maintenance requirements
  • City code requirements
  • HOA restrictions
  • Long-term repair considerations

An informed customer is able to make a better investment decision, and we are happy to be a resource throughout that process.

Serving Frisco and the Entire DFW Metroplex

Although our name is Frisco Fence & Stain, our projects take us throughout North Texas.

We regularly serve homeowners and businesses in:

  • Frisco
  • McKinney
  • Prosper
  • Plano
  • Little Elm
  • Celina
  • Allen
  • The Colony
  • Richardson
  • Dallas
  • And surrounding DFW communities

Much of our business comes from referrals from past customers, which is one of the greatest compliments we can receive.

When someone trusts us enough to recommend us to their friends, family, neighbors, or coworkers, it means everything to us.

The Frisco Fence Mascots

The podcast also covered something many of our customers already know.

We are huge dog lovers.

Our three dachshunds have become unofficial mascots of Frisco Fence & Stain. Customers occasionally see them riding along with us as we visit job sites throughout North Texas.

One of the unexpected benefits of being in the fencing industry is getting to meet so many family pets every day. We spend a lot of time in backyards, and we know how important fences are for keeping dogs safe and secure.

For us, fencing isn't just about property lines. It's about creating spaces where families and pets can enjoy their homes with confidence.

Thank You to the Good Neighbor Podcast

We want to thank the Good Neighbor Podcast for inviting us to share our story.

Small businesses are the backbone of local communities, and we are grateful for opportunities like this to connect with homeowners and business owners throughout North Texas.

If you're considering a fence repair, replacement, staining project, gate installation, or commercial fencing solution, we'd be honored to earn your trust.
